At Neosho County, Gilbert was able to coach a team that was top 5 in the country for 3-pt field goal attempts and makes. He was able to help the program win the most games of their NJCAA D-1 division history. Coaching at Colorado Northwestern, he was able to lead the team to more wins, than the previous years while averaging more points per game than previous years. At Northwest Florida, Gilbert was able to coach the number 1 defense in the country from all aspects while adding 3 more wins than they had the previous year. At Long Island, he coached the number 4 team in the conference in assist and 3-pt FG Defense Percentage.
